Therapy Federal Way, WA
Therapy for people-pleasers and neurodiverse adults who struggle to prioritize their needs.
You are so tired of giving all your effort to everyone without it being reciprocated.
You’re always answering the phone for friends, taking on extra tasks at work, and helping your partner deal with family drama. But you don’t feel cared for by anyone.
You’ve been a helper since you were a kid, being an ear for friends, or trying to fix conflict between your parents. You never wanted to be in trouble, so you followed the rules and did what was expected of you.
You’re exhausted from being hyper-aware of everyone all the time, predicting and accommodating their needs. You don’t even know who you are or what you like because you aren’t prioritized. You’re tired of numbing out at the end of your day instead of doing things you love or that bring you joy.
You put everyone’s needs before your own and you wonder what it would be like to not do that just for a day…
I’m Katie, a Federal Way therapist, and I help people with self-doubt find their confidence and build a life that aligns with their goals and values.
My clients (like you) are burnt out from taking care of everyone and often fear that they are selfish or that relationships will end because of therapy.
But guess what most of my clients experience instead?
Through therapy they have a renewed sense of confidence, guilt-free relationships, and the power to live authentically without pressure to perform for anyone else. That's what I want for you too.
Therapy doesn't have to be stuffy. I’m a casual, funny, empathetic therapist, who works collaboratively with you on meeting your goals. You can expect feedback, to be challenged, and to be cared for in each session. Being a recovering people-pleaser myself, I know the importance of having your own space to be honest, raw, and vulnerable and just how impactful that can be in creating change.
Body & Food Therapy
Build a more peaceful relationship with your body and food. Together, we’ll unpack diet culture, body shame, and the beliefs that make it hard to trust yourself, so you can move toward body neutrality, flexibility, and self-compassion.
ADHD Therapy
Understand your brain instead of constantly blaming yourself for how it works. We will untangle shame, overwhelm, executive functioning struggles, and the pressure to “get it together” so you can create a life that actually works for you.
People-pleasing
You don’t have to keep abandoning yourself to keep everyone else happy. We will explore where your people-pleasing comes from, practice healthier boundaries, communicate more directly, and get clearer about what you actually want.
Sex Therapy
Your sexuality deserves space to be explored without shame or judgment. We’ll work together to better understand your desires, communicate your needs, navigate intimacy challenges, and build a more connected and pleasurable relationship with yourself and others.
You should feel confident in your therapist. Here’s what to expect when we work together.
Discover where your people-pleasing comes from.
We take a deep look at childhood and the messaging you received that created the need to appease others and how to take back power from past traumas and relationships.
Implement actionable steps for change.
We build a toolbox full of small, doable tools that lead to change. We will practice these tools in session so that you feel prepared to use them in the real world. We will explore how your relationships, anxiety, and self-worth shift as you start to prioritize yourself.
Heal emotional wounds.
Once you have the tools in place, we do the deeper work of managing anxiety, rebuilding your confidence, and finding your worth outside of the ways you take care of others. This is done through various therapies that focus on attachment wounds, inner child healing, emotional expression, and body sensations.
